Terms of Service
Last updated: July 29, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Restart Financial website, courses, tools, and related services (the "Service"), operated by Restart Financial ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, purchasing access, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Restart Financial is a financial-education platform based in British Columbia, Canada, serving members in Canada and the United States. Free access may be provided to clients of our partner organizations, CreditLift (Canada) and Simula (United States).
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and purchase access. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Please provide accurate information when you register, and let us know if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
3. The Service & licence
Subject to these Terms and your payment (or a valid free-access code), we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the courses and tools for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, share, resell, redistribute, publish, or create derivative works from any course content, and you may not share your account or access with anyone else.
4. Payment & access
Access to the full program is available for a one-time payment of CAD $1,649 (unless otherwise stated at checkout), which provides lifetime access to the courses and tools included at the time of purchase. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars unless noted, and taxes may apply. Certain clients of our partner organizations may receive free access via an access code, subject to approval.
5. Refunds
All purchases are final. Please see our Contact for details.
6. Advisor access to your information
If you obtain access through a partner organization (CreditLift or Simula) or work with one of our advisors, you acknowledge and agree that authorized advisors may view the information in your account — including your onboarding answers, budget/cashflow entries, course progress, and questions you submit — in order to support you. See our Privacy Policy for more.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to gain unauthorized access, scraping or copying content at scale, reselling access, uploading harmful code, or using the Service in any unlawful way.
8. Intellectual property
All course content, text, graphics, tools, and software are owned by Restart Financial or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Your licence to use the Service does not transfer any ownership to you.
9. Educational purpose — no professional advice
The Service is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute, and is not a substitute for, personalized financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal, or insolvency advice. You should consult a qualified, licensed professional before making decisions based on the content. Tax figures, contribution limits, benefit amounts, and legal rules change frequently and vary by province and state; always confirm current figures with the relevant government authority (e.g., the CRA or IRS).
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the content is complete or current at all times.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Restart Financial and its owners, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, savings, or data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or reliance on its content. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the Service.
12. Changes
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be subject to the courts located in British Columbia, Canada.
